Francine Postiglione, DVM

Dr. Francine Postiglione was born and raised in south Brazil. Growing up with her father being a pediatrician, it sparked her interest in medicine at an early age. She used to spend her summer vacations at her grandparents farms where she got to be a true “Gaucha” (Brazilian Cowgirl)! She would ride horses and round up the sheep and cattle.

In 2007 Dr. Postiglione graduated from Vet school in Brazil and started a journey to get licensed in the US. This journey led her to intern at many high quality US hospitals, including the University of Missouri. She had the opportunity to work with many amazing doctors.

It was during one of her internships in Georgia that she met her husband Brent. They moved to Florida to be close to the beach and warm weather. “We feel blessed to live in Melbourne. I have worked in private practice for the past 2 and a half years. I have a special interest in internal medicine and soft tissue surgery.”

“Dr. Fran” lives in Melbourne Beach with her husband and their Miniature Schnauzer Pepe. She enjoys being outdoors, horseback riding, painting and relaxing at the beach.

I was fascinated to see how medicine and surgery could help treat disease and ease suffering. I can’t remember a time when I didn’t want to work with animals. I was always bringing stray cats and dogs from the streets home. I grew up having rabbits, pet chickens, cats, dogs and if my parents let me I would have had a zoo. My passion for medicine and animals lead me to be a veterinarian.
